Agreement with Nazareth University (USA)

The Department of Foreign Languages, Literature and Cultures offers its students the opportunity to undertake an international academic experience in the United States through the University exchange programme with Nazareth University (Rochester, NY). Active for several decades, this collaboration represents one of the most established and enduring international partnership outside Europe.

Located in Rochester, in upstate New York, Nazareth University enjoys a strategic position: approximately one hour by plane from New York City and just over one hour’s drive from Niagara Falls. The campus provides a welcoming and stimulating environment where an international perspective, academic quality, and a student-centeredapproach combine to create a comprehensive educational experience.

Nazareth University offers a broad range of courses in languages, humanities, social science, and scientific disciplines, enabling students to design a personalized academic experience aligned with their interests and future career goals. Participation in the programme allows students to engage with a global academic community, strengthen their language proficiency in an authentic context, and develop essential cultural and professional skills for an increasingly international labour market.

Exchange students are welcomed and supported by the Center for International Education, which provides guidance, administrative assistance, and integration into university life, in collaboration with the Department of World Languages and Cultures. The Department offers courses in Chinese, French, German, Italian, and Spanish, with particular attention to the development of linguistic, intercultural, and communicative competences.

Students participating in the exchange may enroll in courses across all academic disciplines, subject to availability and prerequisites. Students may also have the opportunity to undertake curricular or extracurricular internships and to work as student employees on campus. The selection process, organization of the study and/or internship period, and recognition of completed activities are carried out in accordance with the procedures established by the University agreement (https://www.unich.it/international) and in coordination with the Department.

At the heart of the partnership stands the Frank Di Mino Casa Italiana, a cultural center located on campus, dedicated to advancing Italian language and culture. It provides a rich programme of academic and cultural activities, creating meaning opportunities for Italian and international students.
