Agreement with Salem State University (USA)

Students of the Department of Languages have the opportunity to make an important international mobility experience in the United States thanks to the university agreement with Salem State University (Salem, MA), established in 2019 and renewed in 2024.

Salem State University isin Salem, a well-known town in Massachusetts that enjoys an excellent strategic location, as it is about an hour’s train ride from Boston. Salem offers many opportunities for cultural experiences, being famous for its maritime history and for the witch trials, which have also made it a well-known center for esotericism, with shops and centers dedicated to the theme. Of particular interest are the Salem Witch Museum, the Salem Maritime National Historical Park, and various guided tours to places connected with witchcraft.

The campus is located on the outskirts of the city, in a very welcoming environment that is open to the international dimension. It offers high-quality teaching and various educational activities for students who, during their stay, can establish valuable contacts with the academic community, attend stimulating courses, and improve their language skills.

Students participating in mobility programs are welcomed and supported by the Center for International Education (CIE), which provides reception, orientation, and assistance throughout their stay. Salem State University offers a wide variety of courses across different disciplinary areas, both within the Department of English and in other SSU departments.

The selection process, organization of the study and/or internship period, and recognition of completed activities are carried out in accordance with the procedures established by the University agreement (https://www.unich.it/international) and in coordination with the Department.
