Agreement with Centro Studi Americani (CSA) in Rome

 

The agreement between “G. d’Annunzio” University of Chieti-Pescara and Centro Studi Americani(CSA) in Rome offers fruitful opportunities for students and scholars to enjoy the Center’s facilities and services for studying and research activities, with particular interest in the field of US literature and culture.

Centro Studi Americani islocatedin Via Michelangelo Caetani 32, on the mainfloor of Palazzo Mattei di Giove, nearRome’sfascinating ghetto.CSAallows the University to organize conferences and seminars in its facilities and provides full accessto its extensive library and online catalog.

Once registered for free, students from our University can have access to the Center’s facilities and services for study and research, they will be able to participate in the Center’s several single and serialized initiatives – for example, the Bright Lights Bookclub (https://centrostudiamericani.org/bright-lights-bookclub/). In addition, students will also have the opportunity to enjoy all content available online (free of charge), such as a series of interviews entitled “Incontri con la letteratura americana” (https://centrostudiamericani.org/incontri-con-la-letteratura-americana/), and much more.

Registered members can benefit from several services, both remotely and on site.

Onsite services:

•   Assistance with bibliographic research and digitalresources;

•   Consultation of books, journals, and digital databases;

•   National and international library loans;

•   Photocopying and printing from digital databases and full-text articles.

 

Online services:

•   Remote registration;

• Consultation of the online catalog (https://centrostudiamericani.on.worldcat.org/discovery); document delivery (via email);

•   Interlibrary loans.

 

Internship opportunities

Within this agreement, “G. d’Annunzio” University can nominate students for internships at Centro Studi Americani, while the evaluation and selection process will be carried out by CSA. When activated, internshipsmay grant credits, provided that they meet the regulations of each study program.

CSA offers the following areas for internships:

•    library science and bibliography;

•    Cultural institutionsmanagement;

•    information technology for humanities.

 

Annual Seminar on American Studies

Among the many events and conferences organized by CSA, students from “G. d’Annunzio” University can participate in the annual “Seminario di Letteratura, Storia e Cultura Americana” (https://centrostudiamericani.org/seminario-annuale/). The seminar is organized in collaboration with AISNA (Italian Association for American Studies) and is a limited enrollment intensive educational experience open to M.A. and Ph.D. students. Selected applicants can be awarded a scholarship for travel and accommodation expenses, and will be granted credits, provided that they meet the regulations of the study program they are enrolled in. The seminar includes plenary lectures delivered by Italian and international experts, and round tables attended by participants from all over Italy. The themes and topics of the seminar vary every year.
